Winner of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars, Casey’s Cupcakes may be a pink shrine to the blond-bombshell owner.. But the cupcakes are really yummy!  At least I think so.. Yelpers rated it two and a half stars.. Maybe I went on a good day?

There’s a great mom and pop shop Japanese restaurant called Kaki Sushi in Pleasanton, CA.  Everyone is super nice, and you get a free potato pancake (like a latke I guess..) and a tiny scoop of ice cream enough to cleanse the palette.

I really do love Pismo Beach! It was great to visit during the Clam Chowder Cook Off! It’s no surprise that Splash Cafe won again.

My trip up to Sonoma County for the Harvest Festival was fantastic! There were soooooo many wineries representing!!  And the Japanese place my friends and I found at the end of our trip was great, too. :)
